Zanaco thus finished the season after 30 games played on 61 points, two more than Power Dynamos, who have settled for second place.
This is title number six for Zanaco in a period of 10 years and they secured their victory after Power, with whom they engaged in a dead-heat battle for the league, lost 1-0 away to Red Arrows to relinquish their hold on the crown.
However, Zanaco were forced to rally from 1-0 down on Saturday after Reynold Kampamba had put Nkana ahead in the 12th minute.
Steven Phiri levelled scores in the 23rd minute to see the two teams go 1-1 into the break.
Zanaco extended their lead in the 56th minute and sealed the win four minutes later through Moses Phiri.
Meanwhile, Power were second best away at Arrows and didn’t look like a side with ambitions of holding on to the crown.
The contest at a packed Sunset Stadium in Lusaka was settled in the seventh minute of the first half when Daniel Sibanda blasted in the winner from close range after Power’s Emmanuel Chimpinde clearance fell straight into the Arrows midfielder’s path.
Zanaco will play in the 2013 CAF Champions League while Power will settle for a CAF Confederation Cup slot.
